Our kitchen designers’ suggestion of gathering the large kitchen appliances into a more concentrated area against a wall, with the addition of floor to ceiling cabinets and no counter space opened up the room to greater possibilities. This change opens up the kitchen without sacrificing the available storage space.

A central component to the décor, the European melamine island has become the most important surface in the kitchen. The warm dark wood finish sits in perfect contrast to the use of other lighter materials. With space for a pantry, open storage for cookbooks, and a counter roomy enough for the host to cook while the guests are seated at the counter for a 5 à 7, this island is the perfect example of what a kitchen island should be.

With a work space featuring a built-in computer, shaker style modules, and an asymmetric hood that adds a sense of cheekiness to the space, this personalized kitchen will certainly bring people together.
